Our ancestors relied on candlelight for reading, lighting up a candle from candlestick. Being a beautiful ornament by itself, candlestick in reception room was always an intimate part of our ancestors’ daily lives. Fold Edition is a modernized design ornament object, minimizing candle stick’s functions and formative elements.

우리 조상들은 촛대 위에 놓인 초에 불을 밝혀 그 빛에 의지해 책을 읽었습니다. 한편으로 사랑방에 놓인 촛대는 그 자체로 아름다운 장식품으로 조상들의 삶 가까이에 늘 존재했습니다. 폴드 에디션은 전통 촛대를 모티브로 삼아 촛대의 기능과 조형 요소를 최소화하여 현대화한 디자인 장식 오브제입니다.

Fold Edition ornaments can be adorned on branches, trees or windows. It brings a festive feel and playfulness into the living space.

A user is to bend for shaping the candle holder and ornament formation, so one can personally experience an artistic moment where a simple figure transforms into three-dimensional sculpture.

평면 형태의 제품을 사용자가 직접 구부려 캔들 홀더와 오너먼트 형태를 잡도록 했는데, 이로써 사용자는 단순한 도형이 입체적인 조형물로 변하는 예술적인 순간을 직접 경험할 수 있습니다.

Beauty of Aging

Finished with raw material such as brass and copper, Fold Edition will naturally oxidize and get darkened patina with a aged look by time, which gives it organic and unique look.

황동, 구리 등의 원재료로 마감한 폴드 에디션은 시간이 지날수록 자연 산화되어 녹청색이 짙어지며, 시간이 지남에 따라 유기적이고 독특한 느낌을 줍니다.
