Magnetic clip & pen holder, paper weight

Hemisphere is a ceramic desk object used to hold paper, pens and it has magnets that attract clips and small magnetic pieces. A useful office accessory and object that makes you feel good just looking at it on your desk. Specially made in collaboration with the ceramic duo artists at THR Ceramic Studio, HANADURI intended to make the design look sophisticated and modern while maintaining the touch and feel of the potter’s hand.

Throughout our lives, we are surrounded by various objects constructed in different shapes. Shapes appear everywhere we see and touch. Among them, we found it interesting that the most perfect shape, circle represents lots of inspirational positive messages such as harmony, people and life. With this concept, HANADURI created a hemisphere-shaped desk object that is useful and adds a touch of beauty to a workspace.

우리는 살아가면서 다양한 모양으로 만들어진 다양한 물체에 둘러싸여 있습니다. 모양은 우리가 보고 만지는 모든 곳에 존재합니다. 그 중 가장 완벽한 모양인 원은 조화, 사람, 삶과 같은 긍정적인 영감을 주는 메시지를 나타냅니다. 이러한 컨셉으로 유용하고 작업 공간에 아름다움을 더하는 반구 형태의 책상 오브제를 제작하였습니다.

Working with experienced ceramists

When starting this project we had to learn how ceramics are made: production methods, processes, materials, etc. After that, we carefully selected the glaze color, and the two ceramists of THR helped us create a prototype and achieve our ideas with their skills and craftsmanship, resulting in a precise, high-quality ceramic object.

이 프로젝트를 시작할 때 도자기의 생산 방법, 공정, 재료 등 어떻게 만들어지는지에 대해 배워야 했습니다. 이 후, 유약 색상을 신중하게 선택한 후 THR 도예가의 기술과 장인정신으로 프로토타입을 만들고 아이디어를 실현시키는데 큰 도움을 되어, 정밀하고 고품질의 세라믹 오브제 결과물을 낼 수 있었습니다.

Since 2003, THR Ceramic founder Seok Man and Hyung Jun have developed their own branded ceramic products focusing on both functional and sculptural work.
